Somni d'Estruc

Somni d'Estruc

This work explores the intersection between architectural ornament and contemporary abstraction. Fragments of engraved patterns emerge from the surface, recalling decorative motifs found in historic architecture, while the surrounding textures appear worn, layered, and partially erased. The painting unfolds through contrasts: dense dark material below, a lighter, weathered field above, and delicate ornamental traces suspended between them.

By merging the language of architectural pattern with contemporary material abstraction, the work creates a tension between structure and erosion. Ornament is no longer purely decorative; it becomes a fragment, a memory embedded within the surface. Through this dialogue between order and decay, the painting develops a distinctive visual language where historical references and contemporary sensibility coexist.
