Aureum explores the quiet dialogue between erosion, light and material memory.
Built through successive layers of texture, pigment and distressed surfaces, the composition moves between pale mineral tones, deep blacks and warm earthy nuances. Subtle traces of gold emerge throughout the surface, sometimes almost disappearing beneath the layers and sometimes catching the light with greater intensity.
A fine horizontal golden line crosses the composition, introducing a sense of structure and balance within an otherwise organic, weathered surface. The lower section becomes increasingly tactile and archaeological, suggesting accumulated matter, fragments and traces shaped by time.
Rather than depicting a specific landscape, Aureum evokes the feeling of an ancient wall, an eroded architectural surface or a terrain transformed by years of exposure. The contrast between raw textures and luminous gold gives the artwork both strength and quiet sophistication.
