EROSION OF ORDER

Original Abstract Mixed Media Painting by Sergio Aranda | 2026

33 × 22 × 3.5 cm | One-of-a-kind original artwork

About the Artwork

EROSION OF ORDER explores the delicate balance between structure and decay, where precise geometric lines meet the unpredictable beauty of weathered surfaces.

At the heart of the composition, a rich, oxidized red surface emerges against a soft, pale blue background. Fine white lines divide the central form into geometric sections, creating a striking contrast between controlled structure and organic textures.

Layers of acrylic paint and mixed media create a surface filled with depth, subtle imperfections, and traces of erosion. Burnt orange, deep reddish-brown, black, and delicate golden accents evoke the passage of time, recalling aged metal, weathered walls, and forgotten architectural fragments.

The surrounding pale blue tones introduce a sense of calm and openness, allowing the textured central composition to become the focal point.

Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, this contemporary abstract painting celebrates the beauty of imperfection, transformation, and the natural aging of materials.

EROSION OF ORDER is a reflection on the relationship between human attempts to impose structure and nature's inevitable ability to transform it.

A small-format original artwork with a strong visual presence, bringing texture, character, and quiet intensity to contemporary interiors.

Art Care & Preservation

How to Preserved and Protect Your Sergio Aranda Masterpiece
Every original artwork by Sergio Aranda is meticulously handcrafted using natural materials, fine sand, and mineral compounds. To guarantee its timeless permanence, each painting is finished and sealed with multiple protective coats of premium, archival-grade artist varnish. This protective layer shields the deep pigments and heavy, sculptural textures from environmental factors.
To ensure your fine art investment maintains its pristine condition and tactile depth for decades to come, please follow these professional conservation guidelines:
  • Display & Lighting: While the archival varnish provides high-end UV protection, we highly recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to direct, harsh sunlight. To fully appreciate the shifting shadows of the sculptural gesso, display the piece under high-quality ambient lighting or dedicated LED art spotlights.
  • Dusting & Cleaning: Due to the rich, sand-crusted organic texture, dust may settle over time. Never use water, liquid cleaners, damp cloths, or chemical solvents on the surface. To clean, gently sweep the textured relief using a dry, clean, soft-bristled brush (such as a premium makeup brush or a soft hake paintbrush).
  • Humidity & Temperature: Fine art canvases thrive in stable environments. Display your painting in spaces with controlled humidity and temperature. Avoid hanging the artwork directly above heavy heat sources (like active fireplaces or radiators) or in high-moisture rooms like small, unventilated bathrooms.
  • Handling: When moving or hanging your artwork, always hold it securely by the wooden stretcher bar edges. Avoid pressing directly against the center of the canvas to protect the structural tension and the delicate, raised mineral reliefs.
