Industrial Horizon NO 2057

Year 2020 · Mixed Media on Canvas

A quiet tension runs across the surface.

A single oxidized line cuts through a field of pale turquoise, like a trace left by time on metal exposed to the elements. The composition is simple, almost minimal, yet beneath its apparent calm lies the visual language of industrial surfaces: corrosion, weathering, oxidation, and transformation.

Inspired by aged steel, rusted structures, and the textures found in industrial environments, this work explores the beauty that emerges when materials evolve beyond their original state. The turquoise tones evoke the natural patina created by oxidation, while the rust-colored horizon introduces warmth, depth, and material presence.

Rather than depicting an industrial landscape, the painting captures its atmosphere. It reflects the silent poetry of abandoned structures, weathered metals, and surfaces marked by years of exposure to time and the elements.

Layers of texture, subtle relief, and oxidized effects create a tactile experience that changes with light and perspective. The surface becomes a meeting point between industry and abstraction, strength and fragility, permanence and transformation.

This work belongs to an exploration of industrial abstract art where rust is not seen as deterioration, but as a record of change—a visual memory embedded within the material itself.
