This work is part of my ongoing exploration of texture and surface.

Built using layers of paper, paint, and various materials, the painting develops a cracked and weathered texture that becomes an essential element of the composition. Rather than creating an illusion of depth, I am interested in the physical presence of the surface itself.

The inspiration for this piece comes from the appearance of charred wood and burnt surfaces. The dark tones, fractured textures, and subtle metallic reflections create a landscape of material contrasts where destruction and transformation coexist.

Throughout the process, the paper reacts unpredictably, producing cracks, folds, and irregular patterns that cannot be fully controlled. These natural accidents become part of the work, contributing to its visual richness and unique character.

My intention is not to represent a specific object, but to explore how texture, color, and material can evoke sensations associated with age, fire, erosion, and transformation.

The surface becomes the subject.
