Ver Ver Ser is an original mixed media artwork that explores the relationship between perception, identity and memory through a contemporary reinterpretation of Cubism.
Inspired by the fragmented language of early Cubist portraiture and the weathered architectural surfaces of Barcelona, the composition combines expressive faces with the iconic Barcelona Panot, transformed by layers of authentic rust and erosion. The repeated handwritten words "Ver Ver" ("To See") invite the viewer to look beyond appearances, suggesting that true understanding begins with observation.
The contrast between the cool turquoise upper section and the richly oxidized earth tones below evokes the dialogue between sky and city, present and past, thought and material. Cracks, distressed textures, oxidation and layered mixed media techniques create a surface that feels excavated rather than painted, reinforcing the idea that every material carries its own memory.
Entirely handcrafted on a wood panel, each layer has been built using collage, texture, oxidation and painting techniques, making every detail unique. No digital effects or printed elements have been used.
A contemporary statement piece for collectors who appreciate Cubist influences, Urban Contemporary Art, material exploration and artworks where texture becomes part of the narrative.

Art Care & Preservation
Art Care & Preservation
- Display & Lighting: While the archival varnish provides high-end UV protection, we highly recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to direct, harsh sunlight. To fully appreciate the shifting shadows of the sculptural gesso, display the piece under high-quality ambient lighting or dedicated LED art spotlights.
- Dusting & Cleaning: Due to the rich, sand-crusted organic texture, dust may settle over time. Never use water, liquid cleaners, damp cloths, or chemical solvents on the surface. To clean, gently sweep the textured relief using a dry, clean, soft-bristled brush (such as a premium makeup brush or a soft hake paintbrush).
- Humidity & Temperature: Fine art canvases thrive in stable environments. Display your painting in spaces with controlled humidity and temperature. Avoid hanging the artwork directly above heavy heat sources (like active fireplaces or radiators) or in high-moisture rooms like small, unventilated bathrooms.
- Handling: When moving or hanging your artwork, always hold it securely by the wooden stretcher bar edges. Avoid pressing directly against the center of the canvas to protect the structural tension and the delicate, raised mineral reliefs.
